about us
At House of Vintage Interiors, I create bespoke lampshades, soft furnishings and hand-painted furniture designed to bring cohesion, character and quiet refinement to the home.
With a background in interiors and a strong understanding of fabric, colour and form, my work is rooted in the belief that a well-designed space is shaped by its details. From statement lampshades to carefully finished furniture, each piece is created to sit harmoniously within a wider scheme — contributing to a home that feels considered, balanced and enduring.
Drawing on heritage influences and traditional techniques, I work with a curated selection of fabrics and finishes to produce pieces that carry both depth and individuality. My hand-painted furniture forms an integral part of this approach, offering clients the opportunity to introduce colour, texture and character in a way that is both practical and distinctive.
Alongside a collection of handcrafted pieces, I offer a bespoke service for private clients and interior designers seeking coordinated interiors — from lampshades and cushions to furniture and soft furnishings designed to work together seamlessly.
Every piece is created with intention, care and consistency, with a focus on producing interiors that feel timeless, personal and quietly confident.
My Story falling in love with heritage
My story begins in the early 2000s, when our family became
custodians of a beautiful Grade II listed inn nestled on the banks of the River
Severn. Surrounded by Georgian architecture, original sash windows, and an
ancient inglenook fireplace, I found myself immersed in the quiet elegance of
the past. Every room carried a sense of history, every detail whispered of
craftsmanship and care.
It was there, within those heritage walls, that my love for
all things historical truly began. The textures, the silhouettes, the timeless
beauty of bygone eras stirred something deep within me—a longing to preserve,
honour, and reimagine the grace of the past for women today.
A Handmade Home
Fast forward to 2008, during the financial crash, when we
were blessed to purchase our own period home—a charming 1930s semi filled with
original character. With interest rates soaring and two small children in tow,
our budget was stretched thin, so we turned to local charity shops in search of
vintage treasures. Piece by piece, we gathered forgotten items and brought them
back to life. Through sanding, painting, stitching, and restoring, we
transformed that house into a home—one filled with warmth, character, and the
story of our family.
Those years deepened my love for craftsmanship and the quiet
satisfaction of creating beauty with my own hands. It was during this season
that my first hero product was born: handcrafted Victorian and Art
Deco–inspired lampshades. What began as a way to bring gentle light and
heritage charm into our own home soon grew into a signature offering. Each
lampshade became a small work of art—stitched, shaped, and adorned with the
same care I poured into every renovation project.
I’ve never stopped creating. Our most recent project has
been restoring our bedroom, blending our vintage suite with contemporary thrift
finds and handcrafted soft furnishings to create a light, airy, and sumptuous
Regency‑core
retreat. It’s a space that reflects everything I love: heritage charm, gentle
femininity, and the joy of making something meaningful from what already
exists.
My Passion My Craft
For over twenty years, I have poured my creativity and
resourcefulness into mastering a wide range of handcrafting skills. More than
fifteen of those years were spent professionally designing and making bespoke
soft furnishings, helping clients style and complete their homes with
beautifully made‑to‑measure textiles. Their design
needs, attention to detail, and the use of quality materials became my focus,
and nothing brought me more joy than seeing their creative visions come to
life.
The same care I once poured into homes, I now pour into
clothing, accessories, and the lampshades that continue to hold a special place
in my creative journey—pieces crafted with intention, beauty, and a desire to
honour the women who welcome them into their lives.
Sustainability
At Veritas & Virtue, sustainability has always
been woven into the heart of my work. Every lampshade and soft furnishing is
individually handcrafted here in the UK using time‑honoured
techniques that prioritise quality over mass production. By creating each piece
to order, I minimise waste and ensure that every item is made with care,
intention, and longevity in mind.
This commitment to slow, sustainable craftsmanship means you
receive more than a beautiful product—you receive something created ethically,
thoughtfully, and with deep respect for both heritage and the environment. Each
lampshade carries the quiet beauty of mindful making, supporting a gentler way
of living and a home filled with pieces that truly matter.
